Job summary

Bayman Atkinson Smythe Ltd is recruiting a Finance Manager Project Accounting in St Helens for a hybrid role. You will lead the new Project Accounting function, overseeing revenue recognition, month-end reporting and controls across an international portfolio.

Working with Commercial Finance and Operations, you will challenge assumptions, test % completion and update procedures to support growing business. You will help build the team and embed robust processes in a changing policy environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in accounting with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong experience in project accounting for complex multi-year contracts.
• Understanding of revenue recognition per percentage of completion.
• Experience with multi-entity management in international environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting and month-end processes, incl. margin reporting.
• Oversee project revenue recognition, WIP, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Compare project forecasts to job cost reports and explain variances.
• Develop and implement robust project controls and processes.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance and Operations to improve data quality.
• Support revenue policy changes and IFRS 15 readiness in due course.
