Job summary

Gillespie Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Finance Manager for a growing business based in Carlisle. This hands-on role offers ownership of the finance function, opportunities to streamline processes, and will provide valuable financial insight to senior management.

The role is hybrid with responsibilities spanning cash flow management, reporting, and collaboration with external accountants and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
• Experience with accounting software, including Sage or similar systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration.
• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Processing invoices, supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Monitoring cash flow, forecasting and financial planning.
• Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting management accounts.
• Managing company expenses and financial records.
• Assisting with VAT returns and maintaining compliance.
• Liaising with external accountants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Supporting payroll administration when required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
