Job summary

Headstar is seeking a Senior MA / Financial Controller in Leeds to lead the finance function and drive commercial decisions. The role offers-line ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and treasury management with a view to shaping the finance function during fast growth.

You will work closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership to deliver robust financial controls and meaningful MI, while developing your career toward future leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with post-qualification experience.
• Experience in a specialist financial services environment (financing, lending, factoring, funding).
• Ability to own the finance function and influence commercial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and board reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Own cashflow forecasting and treasury management.
• Maintain robust financial controls and governance.
• Handle statutory reporting, VAT, corporation tax and audits.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support commercial decisions.
• Build relationships with banks, funders, auditors and external advisers.
• Support strategic projects and future growth initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and reporting.
