Job summary

GTS Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager with a strong mechanical bias to lead an engineering team within a machinery-focused business.

You will combine technical expertise with people leadership to drive performance, equipment reliability and continuous improvement, while collaborating with Mechanical Designers and Engineers on design issues (Solidworks-based).

Qualifications

• Hands-on and practical engineering leadership with a mechanical bias.
• Background in machinery-focused environments such as manufacturing or heavy engineering.
• Engineering qualification and proven industry experience in maintenance or machinery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, setting clear priorities and delivering safely and to a high standard.
• Oversee mechanical engineering activities, including machinery design, prototyping, testing and commissioning.
• Drive equipment reliability, reduce downtime and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve technical issues and improve plant performance.
• Manage engineering resources, contractors and maintenance priorities with health and safety compliance.
