Job summary

Jollyes Pets in Eccles is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead daily operations on the shop floor, support the Store Manager, and coach the team through live customer interactions. The role focuses on maintaining high standards, delivering great customer service and driving sales while hands-on with deliveries and floor management.

You will play a key part in fostering a positive store culture, achieving KPIs, and ensuring pet welfare remains the top priority in all activities.

Qualifications

• Some previous retail supervisory or management experience.
• A genuine passion for pets and people.
• Commercially confident on the shop floor.
• Has contributed to strong business performance and KPIs.
• Commercially aware, with interest in P&L management.
• Own transport with a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Store Manager day-to-day and deputising in their absence.
• Helping manage KPIs around people, store standards, customer service and financial performance.
• Coaching the team to upsell and improve basket size through natural conversations.
• Delivering high standards of pet care and customer service.
• Recruiting, motivating and developing the team; driving store performance.
• Being hands-on on the shop floor, including deliveries and stock handling.
