Jollyes The Pet People in Eccles is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead on‑floor operations, coach the team, and help deliver outstanding customer service for pets and their owners.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to meet KPIs, maintain store standards and drive sales while ensuring pet welfare remains a priority. The role is hands‑on, with frequent customer interaction and occasional regional cover.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for pets and people, delivering a customer‑centred experience.
• Comfort around animals to engage with shoppers and their pets.
• Some previous retail supervisory or management experience with a hands‑on approach.
• Commercially confident on the shop floor, supporting upselling and add‑on sales.
• Clear communicator who can motivate a team and support succession planning.
• Experience contributing to strong business performance and KPIs, with store standards.
• Interest in developing understanding of P&L management.
• Own transport with a UK driving licence for occasional regional cover.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day‑to‑day team leadership and store operations.
• Coach and develop staff to deliver excellent customer service and value for customers.
• Be hands‑on on the shop floor: assist with deliveries, stock and customer interactions.
• Help drive KPIs around people, standards, turnover and gross margin while controlling costs.
• Promote responsible pet ownership and high standards of welfare.
