Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a Construction Teacher to work in Solihull, supporting students aged 11-16 in an alternative provision setting. You will deliver practical construction lessons, promote safety and positive behaviour, and help learners develop vocational skills that support future careers in the construction industry.

You'll work with dedicated support staff and pastoral teams to create engaging learning environments, manage behaviours, and assess progress.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant construction qualifications with teaching or training experience.
• Industry experience across one or more construction trades.
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or additional needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to motivate disengaged learners through practical learning.
• A flexible, resilient approach and commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging vocational construction lessons using hands-on activities.
• Create a positive learning environment to promote safety and behaviour.
• Collaborate with support staff and pastoral teams to support SEMH students.
• Support students to achieve qualifications and progress into construction careers.
