Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning across a 580-acre site, ensuring high standards in restaurants, welfare facilities, corridors and offices. You will lead a hands-on team, motivate staff and work with the Manager to deliver a safe, clean and welcoming environment for customers.

The role combines leadership with practical cleaning duties, requires strong communication skills, Health & Safety awareness and the ability to coach and develop the team. IOSH is desirable.

• Good awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• The ability to maintain high standards and follow procedures.

• IOSH qualification would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the cleaning team to deliver consistently high standards.
• Take a hands-on approach, carrying out cleaning duties and covering staff where required.
• Walk the floor regularly to check standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Coach team members and provide feedback to improve performance.
• Assist with cleaning audits and ensure actions are completed.
• Carry out regular safety walks and hazard spotting activities.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is safe, secure and in good working order.
• Support compliance with Health & Safety, hygiene, fire and COSHH requirements.
• Complete required documentation, administration and cleaning records.
• Respond appropriately to incidents including accidents, fire, theft, loss or damage.
• Communicate regularly with the team through daily team briefs and weekly management meetings.
• Identify training requirements and support the delivery of regular team training.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained for the cleaning service.
• Support the Manager with labour planning and ensuring the operation is delivered within budget.
• Help create a positive working environment and maintain good team morale.
