Job summary

National Tyres and Autocare, part of the Halfords family, is recruiting an Assistant Manager for a Durham centre. The role blends workshop leadership with customer service and daily sales support, reporting to the Centre Manager.

You’ll drive profitability while ensuring excellent customer journeys and compliance with safety standards. The package includes a base salary of £32,000–£34,000 with on-target earnings up to £40,000 and an uncapped monthly bonus averaging around £6,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service while dividing time between workshop and front of house.
• Provide productive management and leadership to drive profitability and customer experience.
• Support adherence to Health & Safety standards and workshop processes.
