Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead the day-to-day operational management of a specialist Haematology Service within the Cancer Services Division. You will work across malignant and non-malignant haematology, supporting stem cell transplantation and related services, to drive high-quality care for complex patient groups.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience.
• Postgraduate qualification in healthcare management, business administration, or related field.
• Significant experience of managing staff in a large and complex organisation.
• Experience in haematology, cancer, or other complex clinical service.
• Proven experience in service improvement and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operational management of a specialist Haematology Service within the Cancer Services Division.
• Support services across malignant and non-malignant haematology, including stem cell transplantation, coagulation and red cell disorders.
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality care for complex patient groups.
• Combine operational leadership, strategic planning and workforce management responsibilities.
• Lead and support service improvement and transformation projects.
• Work collaboratively with a wide multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and corporate colleagues.
• Drive service performance, patient experience and innovation in care delivery.
• Build strong relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.
