Job summary

GenesisCare UK is seeking a Haematology Practice Development Nurse to lead cancer and SACT education across the national network. You will develop, deliver and evaluate programmes, mentor staff and support clinical governance initiatives, while maintaining strong clinical practice across multiple centres.

You will collaborate with oncology nurses to standardise competency frameworks and drive CPD, education planning, and auditing activities. A dynamic role with 40% clinical time across locations.

Qualifications

• Significant post-registration experience in haematology with clinical credibility.
• Experience of teaching and presenting to staff, with a mentor/teaching qualification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and workload management, with ability to produce structured reports.
• Understanding of current issues affecting cancer services, including Clinical Governance.
• Experience in mentoring staff and motivating teams.
• RGN first level nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• ILS Certificate and UKONS SACT Passport.
• Post-registration qualification in Specialty.
• Knowledge of clinical audit, evidence-based practice and research; computer literacy.
• Masters level study is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate cancer and SACT education programmes.
• Collaborate with oncology nurses to standardise competency frameworks.
• Act as a visible clinical role model and provide training across the network.
• Identify training needs and support development of clinical practice and competence.
• Mentor and support new and existing staff through education and skills-based training across locations.
• Develop and review learning materials, guidelines and protocols.
• Lead audit, service improvement and clinical governance activities.
• Work clinically across the network, supporting education and development ~40% of the role.
