Job summary

Horizon Leisure Centres in Havant is seeking a part-time Gym Instructor to support our members in reaching fitness goals.

You will run inductions, deliver gym classes, and create personalised fitness plans, while maintaining member records and promoting classes. Join a supportive team at Havant Leisure Centre and help members stay active.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
• First Aid Qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out inductions on a one-to-one or small group basis.
• Deliver gym-based classes per timetable.
• Write personalised fitness programmes for individual members.
• Proactively maintain the members’ database.
• Promote gym incentives, classes and forthcoming events.
• Assist members with questions and queries.
• Keep gym and equipment clean and tidy per the cleaning schedule.
• Maintain fitness equipment and update the maintenance log.

Job title: Gym Instructor

Hours:18 per week

Location:Havant Leisure Centre

Salary:£11,029.08 (under 21) / £11,896.56 (21 and over)

Working Pattern: This is a part-time role with regular morning shifts. Every week you’ll work Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 07:00 to 11:00, and Saturday from 07:15 to 11:15. You’ll also work one Sunday in every three, from 07:15 to 13:45.

Our ideal candidate!

Our ideal person will have a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role.

What does the role involve?

The main focus of the role will be to ensure the efficient operation of the Gym under the supervision of the Gym Team Leader. A hands-on role that requires you to:

• To carry out inductions on a one to one or small group session basis

• To carry out gym based classes as per timetable

• To carry out and write personalised fitness programmes for individual members

• To proactively maintain the members’ database

• To promote the gyms incentives, classes, and forthcoming events

• To help and assist members with questions and queries

• To ensure the gym and fitness equipment is kept clean and tidy as per the cleaning schedule

• To maintain fitness equipment and update the maintenance log

Qualifications:

• First Aid Qualification (desirable)

• Gym Instructor Qualification Level 2 or Higher (essential)

This role will be based at Havant but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
