Job summary

Horizon Leisure Centres in Havant is seeking a part-time Gym Instructor to join Havant Leisure Centre. The role averages 18.5 hours per week on a 3-week rotating rota, with shifts across Friday, Saturday, Sunday and varying days.

You will hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, assist members, run inductions, update records, and promote classes. Benefits include free gym access, pension, and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in a similar role.
• First Aid qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inductions one-to-one or in small groups.
• Deliver gym-based classes per timetable and create personalised programmes.
• Maintain the members’ database and keep it up to date.
• Promote gym incentives, classes and forthcoming events.
• Keep gym and equipment clean and maintain maintenance log.

Job title: Gym Instructor

Hours:18.5 per week

Location:Havant Leisure Centre

Salary:£11,335.44 (under 21) / £12,227.02 (21 and over)

Working Pattern: This is a part-time role on a 3-week rotating rota, averaging 18.5 hours per week.

Week 1 (21.5 hours): Friday 05:45–14:15, Saturday 10:30–19:00, Sunday 13:30–19:00

Week 2 (13 hours): Friday 05:45–14:15, Sunday 14:00–19:00

Week 3 (21 hours): Thursday 13:30–22:00, Friday 12:30–21:00, Sunday 14:00–19:00

Our ideal candidate!

Our ideal person will have a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role.

What does the role involve?

The main focus of the role will be to ensure the efficient operation of the Gym under the supervision of the Gym Team Leader. A hands-on role that requires you to:

• To carry out inductions on a one to one or small group session basis
• To carry out gym based classes as per timetable
• To carry out and write personalised fitness programmes for individual members
• To proactively maintain the members’ database
• To promote the gyms incentives, classes, and forthcoming events
• To help and assist members with questions and queries
• To ensure the gym and fitness equipment is kept clean and tidy as per the cleaning schedule
• To maintain fitness equipment and update the maintenance log

Qualifications:

• First Aid Qualification (desirable)
• Gym Instructor Qualification Level 2 or Higher (essential)

This role will be based at Havant but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
