Job summary
Horizon Leisure Centres in Waterlooville is seeking a ambitious Gym Instructor to join our team and help members achieve their fitness goals. The role operates on a 3-week rolling rota with early, late, and weekend shifts, requiring flexibility and commitment to a supportive workplace.
You will train and guide members, create personalised fitness plans, and maintain facilities to high standards while working with a collaborative team at Waterlooville Leisure Centre.
Qualifications
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience.
- First Aid qualification is desirable.
- Essential: Gym Instructor Level 2 or higher.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inductions on a one-to-one or small group basis.
- Carry out gym-based classes as per timetable.
- Write personalised fitness programmes for individual members.
- Proactively maintain the members’ database.
- Promote the gym's incentives, classes and forthcoming events.
- Assist members with questions and queries.
- Keep the gym and fitness equipment clean and tidy as per the cleaning schedule.
- Maintain fitness equipment and update the maintenance log.

Salary: £24,509.06 (under 21) / £26,436.80 (21 and over)
Working Pattern:
This role is based on a 3-week rolling rota covering a mixture of early, late and weekend shifts. Shifts typically range between 5:45am and 10:00pm, with regular weekend working. Full rota details are available below or on request.

Our ideal person will have a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role.
The main focus of the role will be to ensure the efficient operation of the Gym under the supervision of the Gym Team Leader. A hands-on role that requires you to:
To carry out inductions on a one to one or small group session basis
To carry out gym based classes as per timetable
To carry out and write personalised fitness programmes for individual members
To proactively maintain the members’ database
To promote the gyms incentives, classes, and forthcoming events
To help and assist members with questions and queries
To ensure the gym and fitness equipment is kept clean and tidy as per the cleaning schedule
To maintain fitness equipment and update the maintenance log
First Aid Qualification (desirable)
Gym Instructor Qualification Level 2 or Higher (essential)

This role will be based at Waterlooville but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
