Job summary

FedEx Express is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Stansted to perform preventive and curative maintenance on GSE, vehicle and workshop equipment. You will log work orders, manage parts, and ensure compliance with safety and 5S standards while delivering reliable service to operations.

The role requires mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, ability to read diagrams, and strong communication in English. On-site work with a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Good technical knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics and basic electricity.
• Autonomous working, curious and self-learning capacities.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams.
• Computer literacy and ability to easily use specific systems.
• Rigorous adherence to rules and procedures.
• Provide clear and summarized reporting when requested.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance repair/work orders as per global maintenance system planning for GSE and material handling equipment and HGV Vehicles.
• Create curative repair/work orders for curative maintenance and execute work for GSE and material handling equipment.
• Launch regulatory inspections as per legal requirements on GSE and workshop equipment.
• Logging maintenance carried out on each asset and maintaining system and physical records.
• Order works to vendors when applicable and check proper execution.
• Collect and sign worksheets from vendors and encode accordingly in global maintenance system.
• Request spare parts when necessary.
• Maintain safe workshop conditions and follow 5S methodology.
• Troubleshoot GSE equipment to minimise downtime and remove faulty units.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and report defects for analysis.
