Job summary

FedEx in Stansted is seeking a maintenance technician to launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance and repairs for GSE and material handling equipment, including HGV vehicles. You will log activities, order parts, and ensure safety and compliance across workshop operations.

You will perform inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with internal customers while following 5S practices and safety standards. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Good technical knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics and basic electricity.
• Autonomous working, curious and self-learning capacities.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams.
• Computer literacy and ability to easily use specific systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Welding experience and basic DC electrical troubleshooting.
• Valid manual shift driving license.

Responsibilities

• Launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance repair/work orders as per global maintenance system planning for GSE and material handling equipment and HGV Vehicles.
• Create curative repair/work orders for curative maintenance and execute work for GSE and material handling equipment.
• Launch regulatory inspections as per legal requirements whatever on GSE and material handling equipment as well as on workshop equipment.
• Logging maintenance carried out on each asset and maintaining both system and physical records.
• Order works to vendors when applicable and check proper execution.
• Collect and sign worksheets from vendors and encode accordingly in global maintenance system.
• Request spare parts when necessary.
• Ensure to keep workshop in good and safe condition and work safely at all times, following 5S methodology.
• Troubleshoot GSE equipment when failure disturbs operations, ensure to remove faulty equipment.
• Ensure delivery and assembly of new assets and update global maintenance system accordingly.
• Identify cost saving opportunities.
• Report identified defects for analysis and further equipment improvement.
• Keep a great collaboration with internal customers and communicate in a solution oriented manner

Working hours: 40 per week
Shift: To be advised
Salary: Base pay £24.93 per hour. Premia paid for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm (£2.68 per hour), and 10pm - 6am (£3.24 per hour).

What You Will Be Doing
