Job summary

Staffline is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across Scotland and the wider UK. This role combines business development, tendering, estimating and client relationship management to win and deliver opportunities.

You will identify and secure new groundworks opportunities (£100k-£5m), build strong client relationships, review tender requirements and prepare competitive bids. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in earthworks, earthmoving, remediation or civil engineering.
• Proven business development and tendering experience.
• Ability to price work from first principles.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience using estimating software, Excel and Word.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new groundworks opportunities (£100k-£5m).
• Build and maintain strong client and industry relationships.
• Review tender enquiries, specifications and commercial requirements.
• Prepare estimates, take-offs and tender submissions.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and pre-tender discussions.
• Act as a key client contact throughout project delivery.
• Support health & safety documentation, PQQs and accreditation requirements.
• Provide regular pipeline, forecast and opportunity reporting.
