Salary: From £30,000 to £35,000 annually

About the role

We seek a detail-oriented, proactive individual to support our Group Tax team in ensuring compliance with UK tax obligations, including Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE/NI, SDLT, and others. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your tax career in a supportive environment, based at our Head Office in Leith.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing Corporation Tax returns, disclosures, and tax forecasts.
  • Support VAT return reviews, consolidations, and customs-related VAT processes.
  • Contribute to PAYE compliance, PSA submissions, and IR35 assessments.
  • Provide tax support across the business, liaising with finance teams, auditors, and HMRC.
  • Drive automation and efficiency in tax compliance processes.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation changes to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Travel to group port assets occasionally.

You will work closely with our Group Tax Assistant Manager and Group Projects & Tax Manager, playing a key role in maintaining our financial accuracy and compliance standards.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Tax professional—whether from practice or industry—eager to grow in a varied, hands-on role with broad exposure across Taxation.

Skills & experience required:

  • Tax qualified to ATT level or with equivalent experience
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communicator, collaborative, positive team player
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts), Word, Teams, Outlook
  • Full UK working rights & driving licence
