What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Group Regional Commercial Director to join our Group Commercial Team. The role oversees five regions: North West, Lancashire, West, East, and North Scotland.

The position can be based in any Scottish region, with frequent travel across all five regions, including occasional overnight stays.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with company guidelines, providing support and training to commercial teams. The role also ensures compliance with group policies across commercial and buying functions.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Review, analyze, and report on development and infrastructure budgets to ensure accurate margins and value through effective design, procurement, and maximized revenues.
  2. Review and report bi-monthly CVRs, ensuring cost-saving solutions are maximized to meet budgets and maximize profits.
  3. Provide timely reports to the Group Commercial Director to aid strategic decision-making.
  4. Support and train on company systems, especially COINS VAP, used for budgeting and CRVs.
  5. Attend regional offices regularly to offer support, advice, and training, and participate in meetings.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to achieve targets.
  7. Maintain and update trade specifications and guidance across the Group.
  8. Review build costs across regions to ensure accurate reporting and land viability assessments.
  9. Promote the Group's Health, Safety, and Environment policies, ensuring team compliance.
What we need from you?
  • Experience in the housebuilding industry is essential.
  • Management and reconciliation of financial models experience.
  • Strong understanding of legislation and the construction market.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • People management experience.
  • Significant commercial experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with COINS software is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications, including HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK with overnight stays.
