Legal & General Group is seeking an experienced Claims Assessor to join the Group Protection Claims team in the UK. You’ll deliver proactive, high‑quality claims service, supporting customers and clients at important moments while ensuring fair outcomes.

You’ll assess and triage claims, manage them end to end, authorise payments, and build strong relationships with IFAs and employers, contributing to portfolio insights and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in claims, Group protection is desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make balanced decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Good understanding of customer needs and delivering fair outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail and workload management.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and triaging new Group Protection claims and identifying required evidence.
• Managing claims end to end, making fair and accurate decisions on liability.
• Authorising and processing claim payments within agreed authority levels.
• Building and maintaining relationships with IFAs, employers and stakeholders.
• Reviewing medical evidence and determining next steps in the claims process.
• Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work solutions where appropriate.
• Using data and insight to support portfolio management and identify trends.
• Ensuring service delivery meets quality, regulatory and customer expectations.
