Job summary

Legal & General is seeking an experienced, motivated and detail‑focused Claims Assessor to join our Group Protection Claims team. Offering up to £42,000 depending on experience.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering a proactive and high-quality claims service, supporting customers and clients at important moments while ensuring fair and accurate outcomes. You’ll assess and triage new Group Protection claims, manage end to end processes, authorise payments within stated authority

Qualifications

• Experience in claims, Group protection is desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make balanced decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Good understanding of customer needs and delivering fair outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workloads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and triaging new Group Protection claims and identifying required evidence.
• Managing claims end to end, making fair and accurate decisions on liability.
• Authorising and processing claim payments within agreed authority levels.
• Building and maintaining relationships with IFAs, employers and stakeholders.
• Reviewing medical evidence and determining next steps in the claims process.
• Supporting rehabilitation and return‑to‑work solutions where appropriate.
• Using data and insight to support portfolio management and identify trends.
• Ensuring service delivery meets quality, regulatory and customer expectations.
