Job summary

Legal & General in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Claims Assessor to join the Group Protection Claims team. You will assess and triage claims, evaluate evidence, and authorise payments, delivering proactive, high-quality outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

The role involves end-to-end claims management, building relationships with IFAs and employers, reviewing medical evidence and supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in Group Protection claims desirable.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Good understanding of customer needs and delivering fair outcomes.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage new Group Protection claims and identifying required evidence.
• Managing claims end to end, making fair and accurate decisions on liability.
• Authorising and processing claim payments within agreed authority levels.
• Building and maintaining relationships with IFAs, employers and stakeholders.
• Reviewing medical evidence and determining next steps in the claims process.
• Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work solutions where appropriate.
• Using data and insight to support portfolio management and identify trends.
• Ensuring service delivery meets quality, regulatory and customer expectations.
