Job summary

Legal & General Group is seeking an experienced Claims Assessor to join the Group Protection Claims team. You’ll deliver proactive, high-quality claims service, supporting customers at important moments while ensuring fair outcomes.

Key duties include triaging and assessing claims, determining liability, authorising payments, and building relationships with IFAs and employers. A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience in claims, group protection desirable.
• Strong analytical skills to make balanced decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage Group Protection claims and identify required evidence.
• Manage claims end to end and make fair liability decisions.
• Authorise and process claim payments within agreed authority levels.
• Build and maintain relationships with IFAs, employers and stakeholders.
• Review medical evidence and determine next steps in the claims process.
• Support rehabilitation and return-to-work solutions where appropriate.
• Use data and insight to support portfolio management and identify trends.
• Ensure service delivery meets quality, regulatory and customer expectations.
