Job summary

Matchtech is working with a rapidly growing infrastructure group to appoint a Group Operations Director in the UK. You will lead a diverse portfolio and partner with the CEO to shape strategy, scale operations and improve performance across units.

You will own operational delivery, safety, quality and profitability, and drive the group's expansion into the EHV market delivering 132kV–400kV projects with board-level exposure and long-term growth opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within Power/Utilities/Infrastructure.
• Experience at Operations Director, Regional Director, or MD level.
• Strong understanding of power infrastructure delivery.
• Experience delivering 132kV to 400kV projects.
• Commercial acumen with large contracts and portfolios.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple units.
• Lead and develop operational teams to ensure project delivery.
• Drive safety, quality, profitability and client satisfaction.
• Hold responsibility for group-wide operational performance and P&L.
• Lead expansion into the EHV market (132kV–400kV).
• Oversee delivery of complex power/infrastructure projects 11kV–400kV.
• Manage commercial/contractual performance of major projects.
• Provide executive oversight of NEC/FIDIC delivery.
• Identify efficiency improvements and growth opportunities.
• Support business development, tendering and strategic growth.
• Strengthen relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
• Develop and mentor senior operational leaders.
