Job summary

Survey Solutions Group is seeking an ambitious Management Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will own the monthly management accounts for designated subsidiaries, deliver reporting packs, and provide financial insight to support decision-making across multiple entities.

The role offers exposure to acquisitions, technical accounting, statutory reporting, systems improvements, and career progression within a fast-growing SME.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or in final stages with relevant practical experience.
• Experience in a growing SME or mid-market business (turnover below £50m).
• Experience operating in a multi-entity, multi-site or subsidiary group structure.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, month-end reporting and financial controls.
• Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good understanding of revenue recognition principles and work-in-progress accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a hands-on approach and can-do mindset.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process for designated subsidiary businesses.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Analyse financial performance and explain variances against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Prepare and review journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
• Deliver timely and meaningful financial information to support business decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting activities.
• Assist with Group reporting and consolidated financial information as required.
• Act as the finance business partner for assigned operating entities and stakeholders.
