Job summary

Springwell Special Academy is seeking a dedicated Group Guide/Advanced Teaching Assistant (Grade 5) to support a focused group of SEMH pupils. You will help with transitions, maintain safe routines and support emotional regulation while building trusting relationships.

Term-time only role, 33 hours per week, with inset days and benefits within the Wellspring Trust. Requires GCSE English & Maths and NVQ L3 or equivalent, with experience in complex needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or younger people with complex needs
• Strong understanding of positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques
• Ability to educate and engage students effectively
• Strong communication with students, parents and colleagues
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
• NVQ L3 qualification or willing to work towards

Responsibilities

• Provide essential support to a specific group of SEMH students
• Plan and facilitate transitions between lessons and activities
• Provide a secure base by modelling calm, supportive relationships and boundaries
• Build strong, trusting relationships with your group of students
