Salary: £43,680 per annum plus Bonus

What will I be doing?

As Group, Conference, and Events (GCE) Planning Manager, you will oversee the planning of large programmes. The GCE Sales Manager will interact frequently with customers and guests to understand their needs and develop relationships to foster repeat and expanded business. Your responsibilities include:

  • Maximising all GCE revenue opportunities
  • Reviewing business plans, identifying gaps, and proactively filling capacity to meet targets
  • Contributing to the hotel's selling strategy and ensuring departmental adherence
  • Understanding the competitive marketplace and implementing strategies to maintain market leadership
  • Conducting weekly spot checks of bookings, aiming for at least 90% accuracy in departmental and system audits
  • Developing GCE Sales Team Members and fostering a culture of high standards in relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and contract processing
  • Managing and developing the GCE Sales Team for career progression and succession planning
  • Organising hotel promotional activities
  • Conducting exit meetings/interviews after each event

What are we looking for?

A GCE Planning Manager at Hilton should embody the following qualities:

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience in Reservations or Conference and Events Sales in the hotel/leisure sector
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Analytical skills to interpret business indicators and market trends
  • Excellent selling and coaching abilities
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Accountability and resilience
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility in work situations

Preferred additional capabilities include:

  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
  • Experience in a similar role
