Job summary

Urban Connect is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to supervise civils and groundworks on site across the North West, with base in Preston. You will lead site gangs, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality.

The role requires CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS and a Full UK driving licence. You will read construction drawings, liaise with Site Managers and engineers, and help plan works while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising groundworks and civils on site.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate groundworks and civils activities
• Manage and motivate groundworkers, plant operatives and subcontractors
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials
• Monitor quality, productivity and progress
• Carry out toolbox talks and maintain site safety standards
• Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and other site personnel
• Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
• Assist with planning and programming of works
