Job summary

Northbuild Recruitment is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman for a large civils project in Manchester. The role calls for hands-on leadership, coordinating groundworks and plant, and ensuring safety and quality across the site.

You will supervise operatives, manage labour and materials, and work closely with site managers, engineers and subcontractors to meet programme targets. A strong civil engineering background and current CSCS/SMSTS credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Groundworks Foreman or Working Foreman.
• Strong background in civil engineering and groundworks projects.
• Valid CSCS card is essential.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification is essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead groundworks and civil engineering teams on site.
• Work hands-on as a Working Foreman alongside operatives.
• Plan and coordinate daily site activities, labour, plant and materials.
• Ensure works meet project specs, drawings and programme requirements.
• Maintain high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, clients and subcontractors.
