Job summary

Urban Connect is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to supervise civils and groundworks on site across the North West, with base in Preston. You will lead site gangs, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality.

The role requires CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS and a Full UK driving licence. You will read construction drawings, liaise with Site Managers and engineers, and help plan works while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising groundworks and civils on site.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on health and safety.

Location: Preston / Projects across the North West

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

We are a long-standing, family-run regional contractor based in Preston, with an established reputation for delivering high-quality groundworks and civil engineering projects across the North West.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our established team.

This is a long-term opportunity with a stable and well-established family business, with a varied allocation of projects across the North West.

The Role

As Groundworks Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising groundworks and civils operations on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will oversee site gangs and subcontractors and help ensure projects are delivered to programme.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Groundworks Foreman with a proven background in civils and groundworks projects.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Senior Groundworker
• Strong experience working on civils and groundworks projects
• Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors
• Good knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, utilities and earthworks
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A strong understanding of health & safety requirements
• Relevant CSCS qualification
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• Full UK driving licence
