Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking a Groundworks Foreman for a major Reading project. You will supervise groundworks gangs, set out excavation, drainage and foundations, read drawings and manage labour, plant and materials on site.

Applicants should have proven groundworks supervision experience, CSCS and ideally CPCS/NPORS, with strong HSE focus and ability to coordinate with site teams to keep the programme on track.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Groundworks Foreman or Senior Groundworker.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering and groundworks.
• Experience supervising and managing a groundworks team.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Relevant CSCS/NPORS or other plant qualifications would be advantageous.
• SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating groundworks gangs on site.
• Setting out and overseeing excavation, drainage, foundations, kerbing, ducting and concrete works.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Organising labour, plant and materials.
• Liaising with Site Managers, engineers, subcontractors and other site teams.
• Monitoring progress and ensuring works are completed to the required programme.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship.
• Carrying out quality checks and resolving issues as they arise.
• Leading by example and ensuring site procedures are followed.
• Completing relevant site paperwork and daily records.

We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our team on a busy construction project in Reading.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Groundworks Foreman with strong site experience who can lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Candidates who can bring an established gang of experienced groundworkers with them would be highly advantageous.

The Role

As Groundworks Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising groundworks operations on site, coordinating the workforce and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
