Tag Construction Ltd seeks an experienced Groundworks Foreman for a major Heathrow Airport Airside project. This hands-on role requires leading a small crew on site, coordinating deep excavations, trenching and trench box installation, while maintaining safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has strong groundworks experience, SSSTS/SMSTS, and at least 5 years of relevant references. Night shifts and airport environment familiarity are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Groundworks Foreman or Supervisor.
• Strong practical background in heavy groundworks and excavation.
• Trench box installation experience is essential.
• Experience supervising excavation and temporary works.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification is essential.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within construction.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Knowledge of RAMS, method statements and permit requirements.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to work nights in airport environments.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work references.

Responsabilités

• Lead and supervise a small team of groundworkers and operatives.
• Manage daily groundworks activities and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• Oversee deep excavation, trenching and trench box installation.
• Supervise drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works, kerbing, slabbing and associated groundworks.
• Ensure excavations are safely installed, supported and maintained in accordance with approved methods.
• Read and understand construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Plan daily activities, allocate labour and coordinate plant and materials.
• Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure works meet project requirements.
• Liaise with Site Management, subcontractors, engineers and other site teams.
• Monitor health and safety standards and ensure company and site procedures are followed.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and progress updates.
• Identify potential issues on site and report them promptly to the Site Manager.
• Work hands-on with the team when required to ensure productivity and program targets are achieved.

Tag Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our team on a major project at Heathrow Airport – Airside. This is a hands‑on position for an experienced Foreman who is confident leading a small team while working alongside operatives on site. The successful candidate must have strong groundworks experience, particularly in deep excavations, trenching and trench box installation.

Due to the nature of the project, previous experience working on complex groundworks and excavation projects is essential.
