Job summary

VMS Ltd is seeking a Ground Operative to join our teams across rail, highways, utilities, waterways, and local environments. You will work outdoors, complete timesheets, drive company vehicles, and perform inspections, with ongoing training and diverse site duties.

Key responsibilities include vehicle checks, progress reporting, and safety compliance. A Full UK Driving Licence, teamwork, and a proactive, reliable attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Desire to work outdoors and in varied environments.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
• Demonstrates adaptability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Complete timesheets weekly.
• Complete Vehicle Check Sheets.
• POWRA completion.
• Communicate daily work progress.
• Maintain kit, vehicle and equipment cleanliness.
• Report equipment/vehicle faults promptly.
• Safe legal driving of company vehicles (Over 21s).
• Assist with LOER/CS38 or equivalent checks.
• Conduct ecological inspections including bird nesting.
• Return briefing forms signed off; assist yard duties.
