Job summary

AEJ Management Ltd are hiring a Grounds Maintenance Operative to perform landscaping and upkeep across client sites. You will handle tasks such as mowing, planting, litter-picking and general exterior maintenance to ensure safety and aesthetics.

The role requires a full driving licence, Pa1/Pa6 qualifications preferred, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. An annualised hours contract and company vehicle are available.

Qualifications

• Proven landscaping and grounds maintenance experience.
• Full driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Experience using a range of garden tools and equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Pa1 and Pa6 certifications preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grounds maintenance tasks across client sites, including retail parks and business parks.
• Litter-picking, bin emptying and general site upkeep to maintain appearance and safety.
• Work autonomously while keeping the line manager updated on progress.

Salary: GBP13.5 - GBP13.5 per hour

What are we looking for?

• An experienced Landscaper/Grounds Maintenance Op
• Someone who can flex between longer hours in Summer and shorter hours in Winter (annualised hours contract)
• Aqualified driver who must be able to meet the Highway Code eyesight test requirements. Candidates must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres (65 feet) in good daylight, as stipulated by UK legislation. This is to ensure that all our drivers can perform their duties safely and in compliance with legal standards.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out various grounds maintenance tasks across client sites, including retail parks, business parks, shopping centres, communal residential areas, and other designated locations. The role ensures the upkeep, aesthetic quality, and safety of outdoor spaces, including general maintenance duties, litter-picking, emptying bins, and more.

What do we need from you?

• Previous proven Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance experience.
• Full driving licence with 6 points or less
• Experience of using a range of garden tools & equipment.
• An excellent knowledge of H&S.
• Hold a Pa1 & Pa6 certification (preferred)
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A great eye for detail, with high personal standards.
• Flexibility, reliability and the ability to deliver within the timescales given.
• A friendly and courteous approach.
• Punctuality and a desire to succeed.
• An ability to work autonomously, whilst ensuring your line manager is kept updated on progress.
