Are you a people person? Are you organised? Do you work well as part of a team? We are looking for a supervisor to work as part of our Grounds Maintenance (GM) team, supported by two Chargehands and the Team Leader. Your role would involve supervising and monitoring staff, distributing work, and ensuring high-quality Grounds Maintenance and Arborist services in the green and open spaces of South Hams and West Devon.

Your days will be busy assigning scheduled work, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to staff on a one-to-one basis. Robust planning is essential to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently. You will need to be adaptable to deliver great quality work for our residents, visitors, and businesses while adhering to Health & Safety procedures and standards, including accident and near-miss reporting.

What else do you need? Excellent IT skills, strong communication abilities, and a good working knowledge of MS Office are essential. Ideally, you will have experience with plant and equipment needed for the role, such as chainsaws, strimmers, ride-on mowers, and blowers. The job will be based at Totnes but will also cover the Ivybridge and Tavistock depots.
