Job description

Grounds & Garden Maintenance

We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who are dedicated to working as part of the team.

Carrying out routine and planned maintenance duties as directed by the Senior Grounds and Gardens Officer and the EFM site senior team, the post holder will:

• Perform garden and grounds maintenance, ensuring litter bins are cleared and litter collected from around the site.
• Clean paths, maintain ground furniture, perform gritting, snow clearance and sweep hospital grounds including all car parks.
• Work politely, helpfully, discreetly and accommodate reasonable requests from the management team.
• Provide a comprehensive service in all weather and remain flexible to meet changing operational needs.
• Execute maintenance of the grounds and carry out related gardening activities across the Basildon site and satellite areas (Ossington site and St Andrew).
• Deliver an effective horticulture service in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, maintain litter‑free sites, power‑wash entrances when required, change outdoor bins daily and keep paths, entrances, car parks and walkways free of obstruction.
• Water all new plantings, tubs and hanging baskets seasonally or until plant maturity, kill and remove all weeds, and strim, mow, prune according to seasonal demands.
