Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead and develop the Ground Engineering team across UK projects. You will drive technical development, strengthen client relationships and oversee geotechnical design and delivery for major multi-disciplinary projects.

This senior role focuses on planning, coaching and delivering high-quality technical outcomes while expanding the pipeline of work with national and international clients. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology/Geology (2:1 or higher).
An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
Chartered status is required/advantageous.
Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.

Responsibilities

Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
Provide consultative advice during all project stages including site selection and optioneering, design and construction.
Manage geotechnical projects, schedules, coordination and budget to meet objectives.
Provide leadership and support to the Ground Engineering team to deliver projects on time and to quality.
Maintain industry presence and develop client relationships to support opportunities.
Collaborate with Ground Engineering and Tunnelling teams and other disciplines on project work and tenders.
Mentor and develop junior team members.
