Job summary

Sainsbury’s is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries directly to customers’ doors with a friendly, reliable service. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform essential vehicle checks, and ensure orders reach customers in excellent condition.

You may also assist in-store when not delivering, contributing to a fast-paced, customer-focused team. The role supports flexible, team-oriented work at Sainsbury’s stores, with a focus on safety, route accuracy and positive

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Online driving risk assessment as part of interview; driving assessment on joining if successful
• Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Sainsbury’s has installed in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour and support safe driving and compliance

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in great condition
• Complete checks to ensure van is roadworthy, clean and loads are secure before departure
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying locations and conditions
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties including steps or longer walks from the van
• Communicate with customers and keep them informed of delays or changes
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed
