Job summary

Sainsbury's is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries directly to customers’ doorsteps. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, complete safety and vehicle checks, and ensure timely, secure deliveries while providing excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates are friendly, safety-conscious and capable of working independently within a fast-paced store environment, with flexibility to assist in-store when not delivering.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, providing a thoughtful, friendly delivery service.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Carry out checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customers’ shopping is secure before setting off.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying traffic, weather and road conditions.
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver shopping to a variety of properties, including steps or lifts.
• Communicate clearly with customers, keeping them informed of delays and resolving queries.
• When not delivering, help across the store as needed.
