Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is assisting a leading renewable energy IPP in recruiting a Senior Grid Manager to lead grid connection activities for a growing portfolio of utility-scale BESS projects across the UK. You will coordinate with NESO, DNOs, and other stakeholders to secure and manage grid offers, energisation, and related approvals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
• 7+ years' experience within grid connections, power systems, renewable energy, BESS, or utility infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of UK transmission and distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection strategy across a large-scale BESS development portfolio.
• Secure and manage grid connection offers for utility-scale battery storage projects.
• Act as primary contact with NESO, DNOs, Transmission Owners and other network stakeholders.
• Assess connection opportunities and identify optimal grid connection solutions.
• Support land, planning, and development teams with grid-related technical assessments.
• Manage grid application submissions, modifications, and connection agreements.
• Monitor and navigate UK grid reforms and evolving connection processes.
• Oversee external grid consultants and technical advisors.
• Support project financing and investment processes through grid-related due diligence.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial, and construction teams to deliver energisation.
