Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Senior Grid Manager to lead grid connection activities for a growing UK BESS portfolio. You will engage NESO, DNOs, TOs and other stakeholders, shaping a multi-GW pipeline as the UK accelerates its energy transition.

You will manage grid offers, feasibility, and regulatory processes, while coordinating with land, planning and development teams to ensure timely energisation and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy or related discipline.
• 7+ years' experience in grid connections, power systems, renewable energy or utility infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of UK transmission and distribution networks.
• Proven track record securing grid connections for energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection strategy for a large-scale BESS portfolio.
• Secure and manage grid connection offers for utility-scale projects.
• Act as primary contact with NESO, National Grid, DNOs and stakeholders.
• Assess opportunities and identify optimal grid connection solutions.
• Support land, planning and development teams with grid assessments.
• Oversee grid application submissions, modifications and agreements.
• Monitor UK grid reforms and evolving connection processes.
• Provide grid-related due diligence to support project financing.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial and construction teams.
