Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Green Spaces Officer (Playgrounds) based in Addlestone, Surrey. The role focuses on managing parks, playgrounds, open spaces and allotments, with a mix of project oversight, contractor supervision and community engagement.

You will collaborate with grounds maintenance, councils, volunteers and external agencies to improve facilities and environmental outcomes for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience in parks, green spaces, playgrounds, or environmental services.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
• Ability to coordinate projects and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with contractors, volunteers, and community groups.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Experience in Local Government or Public Sector settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee improvement projects for parks, playgrounds, open spaces, and allotments.
• Ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality-compliant project delivery.
• Facilitate enhancements that boost the quality and value of green spaces.
• Collaborate with Grounds Maintenance to uphold standards.
• Provide technical guidance and operational advice as needed.
• Work with internal departments, councillors, community groups, and contractors.
• Supervise contractors and volunteers on improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to habitat creation, tree planting, and environmental projects.
• Assist with practical site tasks and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement management plans for parks and greenspaces.
• Monitor projects for health and safety compliance.
• Support event organisation and delivery when required.
