Job summary

Colbern Limited in Addlestone is seeking a Green Spaces Officer - Playgrounds to oversee park and playground projects, ensuring safety, compliance with policies and timely, on-budget delivery.

You will coordinate with maintenance teams and stakeholders, supervise contractors and volunteers, and help develop management plans for greenspaces while supporting on-site conservation work. This role offers flexible hybrid working: 1 day work-from-home, 2 days in the office and 2 days in the field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities meet Health and Safety policies, including risk assessments.
• Organise improvement projects in parks and playgrounds, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget.
• Liaise with the maintenance team to discuss standards and promote best practice.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic goals from an operational perspective.
• Support ground maintenance teams and volunteers in on-site conservation, planting and habitat creation.
• Supervise contractors and volunteers on schemes to improve green spaces.
• Assist in developing management plans for parks and greenspaces.
• Assist in managing events as required.

Our client is looking for an experienced Green Spaces Officer - Playgrounds

1 day WFH, 2 days office, 2 days field

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all activities under the post holder's control are undertaken in such a way as to maintain proper Health and Safety standards and are in line with the Council's Health and Safety policies, including the preparation and review of risk assessments and/or risk/benefit analyses.
• Organise and coordinate improvement projects in parks, playgrounds, open spaces, and allotments, ensuring they are completed on time and to budget.
• Liaise with the in-house grounds' maintenance team to discuss standards of work, supply technical guidance and to encourage best practice.
• Liasise and work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders; relevant internal departments such as Community Services, Councillors, external agencies, friends groups, residents, contractors and businesses to deliver strategic goals and advise from an operational perspective.
• Support our ground maintenance teams, Green Space colleagues, Tree team and volunteers in occasional on-site, practical conservation work, planting, and habitat creation.
• Supervise contractors and volunteers on a wide range of schemes and projects to improve the value of the Borough's green spaces.
• Assist in the development of management plans for various parks and greenspaces
• Assist in the management of events when as required
