Job summary

Runnymede Borough Council is seeking a Green Spaces Officer to manage playgrounds and open spaces in Addlestone. The role covers coordinating projects, liaising with internal teams and external partners, and supervising contractors and volunteers to enhance the borough’s green spaces.

Flexibility includes one day WFH, with two days in the office and two days in the field, contributing to effective risk management and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Health and Safety compliance and risk assessments
• Project management of park improvements
• Liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Supervision of contractors and volunteers

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities comply with Health and Safety policies and risk assessments
• Organise and coordinate improvement projects in parks, playgrounds and open spaces
• Coordinate with grounds maintenance for standards and guidance
• Collaborate with councillors, external agencies and partners
• Support on-site conservation work and habitat creation
• Supervise contractors and volunteers on schemes to improve green spaces
• Assist in developing management plans for parks
• Assist in event management when required
