Job summary

Willmott Dixon invites graduates to join a 2–3 year Preconstruction Project Management trainee programme based in our Birmingham office. You will gain hands-on experience across Midlands projects, supporting work-winning, bid development and preconstruction planning.

You will rotate through functions including site management, quantity surveying and design, while building knowledge to progress into management roles. Right to work in the UK is required and a relevant degree by Sep 2027.

Qualifications

• Degree by September 2027 in construction project management or related field.
• Exposure to construction through work experience, placement or similar is desirable.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support projects through work-winning and preconstruction stages.
• Develop winning bids and ensure projects are planned, coordinated, resourced, risk-managed and contractually secured for delivery by site teams.
• Support live project delivery and participate in structured rotations across functions such as site management, quantity surveying, design and preconstruction.

Graduate Trainee Programme – Preconstruction Project Management

Launch your career in construction with our Graduate programme within the Midlands region. Based from our Birmingham office, you'll gain valuable hands‑on experience working on exciting construction projects across the West, Central and East Midlands, helping to shape the communities of tomorrow.

Preconstruction Project Management: You will oversee and support projects through the work-winning and preconstruction stages, responsible for developing winning bids and ensuring projects are planned, coordinated, resourced, risk‑managed, and contractually secured ready for successful delivery by our site teams.

Our programme is 2 to 3 years in duration (depending upon your level of academic achievement) and will give you the chance to earn, learn and gain real experience alongside a part‑time study for a relevant qualification that is paid for by Willmott Dixon.

  - (Preconstruction) Degree equivalent in construction project management, construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, etc
  (Desirable) You have had some exposure to construction (work experience, placement or similar).
