Job summary

Step Into Teaching is offering a Graduate Teaching Assistant role within a specialist ASD provision at a mainstream secondary school in Sutton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support autistic students and gain hands‑on experience within a specialist classroom environment.

The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, with a November start. You will work closely with experienced staff to provide personalised support and help students build confidence, independence and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree with a 2:2 or above.
• Be supportive, friendly and approachable.
• Be resilient and motivated to support and inspire students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support autistic students in learning and development within a specialist ASD provision.
• Work within small-group teaching and personalised learning pathways.
• Assist students with access to mainstream lessons where appropriate.
• Help students develop confidence, independence and emotional regulation.
• Support positive behaviour and student wellbeing.
