Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a specialist secondary school in Bury, supporting students aged 11-16 with autism and SEND. The role focuses on helping pupils access learning and develop communication and social skills.

Ideal candidates will have a degree and prior school-based experience, with a genuine passion for inclusive education and progress in SEND. Training and safeguarding checks will be provided as part of joining our team.

Qualifications

• Degree in any subject required.
• Previous experience working in a school setting is essential.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, autism and/or communication needs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students throughout the school day, in and out of the classroom.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Help develop students' communication, independence and emotional regulation skills.
• Work with teachers and specialist staff to deliver tailored support strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent routines and a nurturing approach.
• Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
