Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting graduates to join a Sefton secondary school as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Location: Sefton, L37. Start Date: September 2026. Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term.

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Pay: Paid to scale. You will support pupils with learning and wellbeing, assist teachers, manage behaviour, and help ensure safeguarding procedures are followed. Applicants must have experience with children, the right to work in the UK, and an enhanced DBS

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.

Responsibilities

• Behaviour management: Foster a positive learning environment with good behaviour management.
• Providing emotional support: Offering guidance and support to students who may be dealing with personal issues or stress.
• Monitoring well-being: Keeping an eye on students' overall well-being and reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
• Safeguarding: Ensuring the safeguarding procedure is followed when required
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers to ensure lessons run smoothly and students thrive academically and socially.
