Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Lewisham. Enthusiastic candidates with a can-do attitude, including those with SEN experience, are encouraged to apply. A STEM degree is preferred but not essential. The position may extend or become permanent depending on performance.

The role is full-time, based in Lewisham, with hours 8:00am–4:00pm. Start date 02/11/2026, temporary contract until the end of the academic year.

Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Secondary school in Lewisham. The school is looking for someone who is enthusiastic and who has a can-do attitude. The role is open to candidates with previous SEN experience and for those who are looking to start their career in education. Although not essential the school would prefer candidates with a degree in a STEM subject. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with children and young people.

• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
