Contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by supporting a range of teaching, assessment, and administrative duties, as requested by the Programme Lead/ Course Lead or equivalent.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, organisation, and delivery of teaching.
- Support the delivery of a range of teaching and assessment activities aimed at subject delivery.
- Participate in course administration duties within required timescales, including effective communication, marking, assessment, and timely feedback.
- Assist in developing appropriate teaching materials that meet learning objectives.
- Contribute to the effective use of learning technologies, including blended and online delivery via Moodle and other IT tools.
- Apply specialist knowledge to tailor teaching to meet the needs of individual and groups of learners, promoting inclusivity and evidence-based practices.
- Participate in formative assessment using various methods, providing constructive and timely feedback to support student learning.
- Assist in supervising student projects, dissertations, and practical work, advising on skills and techniques, and supporting diverse learner needs.
- Engage in continuing professional development activities.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of School.
- Contribute to enhancing the University’s international profile in line with its Strategic Plan.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications/ Knowledge
- A1: Honours degree (SCQF Level 10) relevant to the teaching area or expertise in a related field.
- A2: Registered for and working towards a PhD qualification at the University of Glasgow.
- A3: Successful completion of the latest Annual Progress Review.
- A4: Understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment principles.
- A5: Specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of the required subject.
